Arsenal Tula appoint Dmitry Parfenov as head coach

print version

Arsenal Tula have appointed Dmitry Parfenov as full-time manager with immediate effect.

He takes over from Sergey Podpaly, who had guided Arsenal to three wins from his first five matches as caretaker manager at the end of last season.

After winning the Russian Cup in 2018 with FC Tosno, Parfenov then spent two years at the helm of Ural Ekaterinburg, whom he guided to the 2019 Russian Cup Final where they lost to Lokomotiv Moscow. He had started his coaching career in 2012, joining the staff of the Russian youth national team, before taking over at Tekstilshchik Ivanovo later that year.

As a player, he won the Russian championship four times and the Russian Cup once with Spartak Moscow, and two Ukrainian Cups with Chernomorets Odessa. The Ukrainian international finished his playing career with a short spell at Arsenal Tula eight years ago.
