CSKA Moscow have announced the departures of assistant manager Sergey Ovchinnikov and first-team coach Viktor Onopko after the expiration of their contracts. No replacements have been announced as of yet.
Ovchinnikov had spent over six years as number two under Leonid Slutsky and Viktor Gancharenko, having started his coaching career at Lokomotiv - where he spent over a decade as a player - in 2007. He also spent four years as the Russian national team’s goalkeeping coach between 2012 and 2016.
Onopko leaves the Armymen after over a decade on the coaching staff, having helped prepare the first team for almost 500 matches under Juande Ramos, Leonid Skutsky and Gancharenko.
In the official club statement, CSKA thanked the pair for their fruitful work and wished them good luck in their future careers.
