Eshchenko retires from playing to become Spartak coach

Former defender Andrey Eshchenko has officially announced his retirement as a player, and has now joined the coaching staff at Spartak Moscow under Paolo Vanoli. He has played for Spartak since 2016, playing 109 matches and scoring one goal.

As well as representing fellow Moscow clubs Dynamo and Lokomotiv, Eshchenko has also represented Zvezda Irkutsk, Khimki, Volga Nizhny Novgorod, Kuban Krasnodar and Anzhi Makhachkala either side of a five-year spell in Ukraine. 

As a Spartak player, Eshchenko became champion of Russia as well as finishing runner up and third, and lifting the Russian Super Cup.
