Bulgarian midfielder Ivelin Popov officially left FC Sochi following the end of the season, the club confirmed on Monday.
34-year-old will return to Bulgaria joining Levski Sofia, the club he played for as youth since 1997 to 2004.
Popov came to Russia in 2012, he had been playing for five teams, including Kuban Krasnodar (2012-2015), Spartak Moscow (2015-2018), Rubin Kazan (2018, on loan), FC Rostov (2019-2020) and FC Sochi (2020-2022). He won the RPL title and the Super Cup with Spartak in 2017 and also got RPL silver medal with Sochi in the 2021/22 season. In total Popov made 227 appearances and scored 40 goals in the league.
