Mikhail Galaktionov became Lokomotiv head coach

Lokomotiv Moscow officially announced Mikhail Galaktionov as the new team head coach.

Signing contract will run till the end of 2023/24 season and has extension option. Meanwhile coach will continue the job as Russia U-21 national team, as it was with Pari NN before.

Galaktionov joined Lokomotiv after he had been working with Pari NN since June. Team from Nizhny Novgorod got 19 points in 17 RPL matches and finished as twelfth before the winter break. Pari NN are the leaders of Group A in Russian Cup RPL Path Group Stage, Lokomotiv play in the same company.

The Railwaymen started this season under Josef Zinnbauer, the German was fired after 0-4 defeat at Sochi on 8 October. Andrey Fedorov was the interim coach in the remained games, the team is 14th in the RPL standings with 13 points.

Until the end of the year Lokomotiv will face Krasnodar away and Pari NN at home in last two matchdays of Russian Cup RPL Path Group Stage on 23 & 27 November respectively.
