EPFL events took place in Athens

On 6 December in Athens the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association of European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) was held. Agenda included an issue regarding appointment of the EPFL President for a new period: as a result of the discussion the English Premier-League President Sir David Richards entered a post of the EPFL President until 2013. Among other issues financial solidarity at the national and European levels and development of the EPFL behaviour code on sport bets integrity were discussed.    

On 7 December an international workshop dedicated to issues of safety and restraint of violence during football games within national and European competitions took place in Athens. RFPL Security Director Aleksander Meytin participated in the workshop. Among the issues discussed there were programs of stuards education and introduction at European football games, improvement of stadiums safety and security infrastructure, coordination of stakeholders' efforts.
