Kevin Kuranyi was named “The best football player of the month” by RFPL

print version

Dynamo FC forward Kevin Kuranyi received a prize “The best player of the month” that was instituted by the Russian Football Premier League with the assistance of a sports portal Championat.com.

To choose a football player who would deserve an MVP title the most was uneasy. That was admitted by many experts including an editor of “Moskovskiy Komsomolec” sports section Alexsey Lebedev.

— I can’t say there was a clear candidate to become the best football player of the month. About 10 players had a right to claim this award. But I consider that the first among equals was exactly Kevin Kuranyi. “Dynamo”, where the German forward plays, demonstrates stable game, constantly scores. Kuranyi showed himself properly at last. In the last game before a winter break he came out as a football player of the highest class. And that influenced opinions of experts and fans.

Championat.com Managing Director Dmitry Sergeev also told about voting process.

— Initially a leader of voting was Alexander Kokorin who received the prize in October. Then three players pulled ahead. There were a “Dynamo” player Kein Kuranyi, a CSKA player Akhmed Musa and a “Zenith” player Aksel Vitsel. The final decision was made after the 19th tour when the German legionary came out brighter than others and perfectly acted in the game against “Terek” from Grozny. That is why exactly Kevin Kuranyi was named the best player of November.

The laureate himself couldn’t attend an awards ceremony that was held in Moscow during sizing up the results of 2012 on December 11th. Deputy Executive Director of Moscow “Dynamo” Dmitry Ivanov received the honorable prize for the football player.
