Russian national team plays against Israel

On Tuesday, September 10, the Russian national team plays a game against Israel as a part of the World Cup-2014 qualifying tournament. The game will be held at Petrovsky stadium in Saint-Petersburg. The game starts at 19:00 MSK.

If the Russian national team wins this game and beats Luxembourg and Azerbaijan, it will secure the first place in the group regardless results of other opponents. Yet Russia occupies the second place, Portugal is a leader of the group. 

Which of two countries will qualify for the World Cup depends on the outcome of the game. Russians require a victory only and even a draw will not be enough to stay struggling for a right to qualify for the final tournament. 

The previous game between the teams that took place a year ago ended in a 4-0 defeat for Israel.
