The 2014 Sochi Olympic torch relay was held in Dagestan and hosted at Anji Arena on January 27, the club’s official site says.

The Olympic flame procession was welcomed to Anji Arena by the First Deputy Chairman of RD Government Anatoly Karibov and RD Minister of Physical culture and Sport Magomed Magomedov. Full stands of Anji Arena warmly greeted the participants of the event.

The first to bear the torch was the 1972 Olympic champion in men`s free-style wrestling Zagalav Abdulbekov.

The Olympic flame was also carried by Olympic champions and prize-winners, World Champions, Champions of Europe and Russia, competent coaches and specialists.

Head of Dagestan republic Ramazan Abdulatipov took part in the Grand Olympic flame lighting ceremony together with the final torchbearer of the Dagestani part of the Olympic relay, Olympic champion Khadzhimurad Magomedov.
