On the 16 June in the press-center of Otkrytie Arena stadium a press-conference took place, where Spartak CEO Roman Askhabadze introduced the Swiss specialist Murat Yakin as the new Head Coach of Spartak, as the website of the club informs.
Murat Yakin, the famous player in the past, who played in particular for Swiss clubs Grasshopper and Basel, for German Stuttgart, and for the National Team of Switzerland, started his coaching activities in 2006 after finishing his playing career. Yakin started his coaching career from the lowest Swiss division, where he began to work for Concordia - the club, where he had started to play football. Then he was an assistant of the head coach, coached Swiss Thun, which he brought to the elite division of the championship and European Cups, and Luzern, with which he won medals. The success of Yakin brought him to the most popular in Switzerland team - Basel. Murat Yakin twice became champion with this club in the previous two seasons, reached the semi-final of UEFA Europa League, and at the group stage of UEFA Champions League they beat Chelsea from London twice.
