print version

On Saturday, 28 March, at Norrköpings Idrottsparken in Swedish city Norrkoping the match of Elite Round of UEFA European U-19 Championship between Russia and Lithuania took place (players born on or after 1996).

Our team coached by Dmitry Khomukha beat its opponent 6:0. The other match was won by Belgium, which beat Sweden, and due to this win Russia became unreachable for other teams in the group and guaranteed the first place in the group in advance. That means U-19 Russia will be playing in UEFA European U-19 Championship 2015 final tournament in Greece (6 – 19 July 2015).

For the first time since 2007 U-19 team of Russia will take part in the final tournament of the European U-19 Championship. Moreover, since new format of continental championships for youth teams was introduced in 2002, neither two youth teams of Russia (U-17 and U-19) qualified to the final tournament the same year. Youth National Team of Russia (players born in or after 1996) became the first team, which qualified to both continental finals (U-17 in 2013 and U-19 in 2015), as the website of the FUR informs.

Russian Football Premier League would like to congratulate the team of Dmitry Khomukha and to wish them a lot of success in the final tournament of UEFA European U-19 Championship!
