Football Festival took place at Lokomotiv

On Saturday, 23 July, an opening match of the RFPL anniversary season for OLYMP Super Cup of Russia 2016 took place at Lokomotiv Stadium, where the Champion of Russia PFC CSKA played against the Cup of Russia holder FC Zenit.

A tense and uncompromising struggle started from the very beginning. More than 22 thousand spectators watched the game from the stands. A goal to PFC CSKA was scored by Mauricio  in the 23^rd minute.

Players of both teams continued to struggle for the first trophy of the season, but there were no goals scored. FC Zenit well-deserved winning and became the Super Cup of Russia winner for the fourth time. When the team captain raised the golden trophy above his head a song  We are the Champions was heard above the stadium.

The kick-off of anniversary football season 2016-2017 was a success! Premier League turns 15. A very interesting Championship is waiting for us, and after it the matches of FIFA Confederations Cup will start at the main arenas of the country.
