FC Spartak-Moscow Board of Directors took a decision to appoint Italian specialist Massimo Carrera as the Head Coach of the team, as the website of the club informs.
As a player Carrera played for such famous Italian clubs as Bari, Napoli, Atalanta, Juventus. He played defender. Carrera won UEFA Champions League, became the UEFA Cup winner, the first place in Italian Seria A and won the Cup and Super Cup of the country with Juventus. He finished his playing career in 2008.
As a coach he worked as an assistant of Antonio Conte in Juventus and National Team of Italy, including the recent European Championship. Besides, during a long suspension of the Head Coach of the club from Torino, Carrera took over the team. In particular, the Italian was acting head coach of Juventus at the Super Cup match against Napoli, in which the team from Torino won.
Carrera works for Spartak since July 2016.
