Zenit lost its final match of this year

On Thursday, 8 December, Zenit played its last match in 2016 and lost to the Dutch club AZ Alkmaar 3:2.

In UEFA Europa League match the first two goals were scored to the club from St.Petersburg in the first half. After the halftime Giuliano managed to play one goal back and scored his 14^th goal in the season. The Dutch team did not wait long and scored the return goal several minutes later. Due to the own goal the Russian club shortened the gap, but was not able to save the match.

Zenit will learn its opponent in the next stage of the tournament on 12 December.
