UEFA took decision to move the return leg match of UEFA Europa League 2016\2017 Round of 32 between Turkish Fenerbahçe and Krasnodar from Thursday, 23 February, to Wednesday, 22 February.
Two clubs from Istanbul – Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş – qualified to this stage of the tournament and both of them were among seeded during the Draw. That means that they will play the return leg game at home. According to the UEFA Club Competitions regulations, two matches cannot be played in one city on the same day due to safety and security reasons, so one of them should be played on Wednesday. As Beşiktaş got the higher position than Fenerbahçe in the tournament table of the previous season, this club has the priority, and the match of Fenerbahçe will be moved, as the website of Krasnodar informs.
So Fenerbahçe and Krasnodar will be playing in Istanbul on 22 February 2017, on the same day when the club from Krasnodar will be celebration its 9th birthday. The match at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium will kick-off at 20:00 (Moscow time).
