Victor Tsarev passed away

On Monday, 2 January famous former Soviet player, USSR merited master of sports and RSFSR merited coach Victor Tsarev passed away at the age of 85.

Victor Tsarev spent his practically whole playing career in the only club – FC Dinamo Moscow (1954 – 1966) with which he claimed four USSR Championship titles (1955, 1957, 1959 and 1963); he played against the strongest teams of England, Italy, Southern America and Yugoslavia. Victor Tsarev played 278 matches in the USSR championships and scored 11 goals.

Tsarev had 12 caps for the USSR team - took part in the FIFA World Cup 1958 and got the title of the UEFA European Cup 1960.

After finishing a player’s career Tsarev started his coaching career. He headed FC Dinamo Moscow, the USSR major and youth teams.
