Evgeny Bushmanov is U-21 Team of Russia Head Coach

The Football Union of Russia would like to announce about signing a contract with Evgeny Bushmanov that will take charge of the Russian U21 team as the head coach. The contract has been concluded for the term until 15 July 2019. On Thursday, 26 January the draw of the UEFA U21 EURO-2019 qualifying phase will take place in Switzerland where Russia will learn their opponents for the group stage.

- I am really grateful to the leadership of the Football Union of Russia and Vitaly Mutko in particular for the suggestion to take over the Russian U21 team. It is a very interesting and responsible task and I will undertake it with pleasure. It goes without saying that it is a new challenge to me. This week the qualifying draw of the UEFA U21 EURO 2019 will take place and we will learn the opponents and the match calendar. It will be our starting point for building up the training and preparation process. Under FIFA international calendar there is a date for the international matches in March and on this very date I will get acquainted with the team that will include players born in or after 1996. The task is absolutely clear to get to the final stage of the UEFA U21 EURO-2019. I would also like to thank the leadership of FC Spartak Moscow where I was responsible for the reserve team.
