Russia finished participation in FIFA Confederations Cup 2017

The wrap-up matches of FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 took place in Group A. Russia lost to Mexico in Kazan 1:2, Portugal beat New Zealand 4:0.

Russia took the lead due to a well-placed shot by Alexander Samedov in the 25^th minute. Five minutes later Mexican defender Araujo evened the score. The winning goal was scored by Losano in the 52^nd minute of the game.

After the Group Stage Russia has gained 3 points and got the 3^rd position in Group A. Therefore it ended its participation in the tournament. Mexico will be playing semi-final against the winner of Group B on 29 June.
