The wrap-up matches of FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 took place in Group A. Russia lost to Mexico in Kazan 1:2, Portugal beat New Zealand 4:0.
Russia took the lead due to a well-placed shot by Alexander Samedov in the 25th minute. Five minutes later Mexican defender Araujo evened the score. The winning goal was scored by Losano in the 52nd minute of the game.
After the Group Stage Russia has gained 3 points and got the 3rd position in Group A. Therefore it ended its participation in the tournament. Mexico will be playing semi-final against the winner of Group B on 29 June.
