On Thursday, 17 August, Krasnodar hosted Crvena Zvezda from Serbia in UEL play-off first leg match.
The game ended with win of the Russian Football Premier League club – 3:2.
The opener was scored in the first half by FC Krasnodar Academy trainee Ignatyev. At the very beginning of the second half Claesson scored to the visiting goalkeeper again. The away team managed to play one goal back due to the goal by Srnic. But a well-placed shot by Petrov made the score more acceptable for Krasnodar. But the home team was not able to keep this gap, as Pesic, who was fielded after a substitution shortened it again.
The return leg match will be played in a week in Belgrade.
