Spartak beat Rostov

MATCH PREMIER Cup tournament kick-off match in Doha (Qatar) between Spartak and Rostov ended with win of the team from Moscow 2:1.

In the 40^th minute of the game forward of Rostov Viðar Örn Kjartansson scored the opener for this team. In the 58^th minute Luiz Adriano equalized by confident convert of the kick from 11-meter mark. Rostov could have scored at the last minute of the fulltime, but Alexey Ionov was not able to score from the penalty mark and Spartak goalkeeper Alexander Maximenko made a save. Spartak managed to get the win due to the well-placed shot by Denis Glushakov during extra time.

National team of Russia head coach Stanislav Cherchesov and his assistants Miroslav Romaschenko and Gintaras Stauce watched this game from the stands.

The following match of this tournament will be played on Friday, 25 January. Spartak will play against Zenit at 18:30, and Rostov against Lokomotiv at 21:30.
