The Football Union of Russia announced that the first two EURO-2020 qualifying matches will be played in Saransk and Nizhny Novgorod.
Russia is going to play San-Marino on 8 June at Mordovia Arena (kick-off – 19:00). And players of Stanislav Cherchesov will play the team of Cyprus on 11 June at Nizhny Novgorod stadium (kick-off – 22:45). Both these stadia hosted FIFA World Cup 2018 games last summer, and in September U-21 European Championship qualifying match between Russia and Serbia was played in Nizhny Novgorod with the attendance of 40 000 spectators.
Russia will start EURO-2020 qualifying cycle on 21 March 2019 with the match against Belgium, which will be played in Brussels at 20:45 CET (22:45 Moscow time). Three days later, on 24 March, Russia will play another qualifier away. The match against Kazakhstan will be played at Astana Arena. Kick-off time – 20:00 local (17:00 Moscow time).
