Russian Premier League champions Zenit St. Petersburg have revealed which teams they will face on their three training camps. Currently on their first camp at Qatar’s Aspire Academy, they will face local second-tier side Al-Uwaynah on 21 January before taking on Red Bull Salzburg on 25 January.
During their second camp in Benidorm they will play FC Dudelange, who have won the Luxembourg National Division title 15 times since the turn of the century, on 1 February. After a brief break at home, Zenit will fly out to Antalya, Turkey to face Kairat Almaty on 17 February and then Dinamo Minsk on 22 February.
Zenit legend Andrey Arshavin spent three successful seasons with Kairat before retiring in December 2018. A few months earlier came one of the most dramatic European nights in Zenit’s history against Dinamo. After a humiliating 4-0 first-leg defeat in Minsk, 10-man Zenit edged into extra time at the Petrovsky Stadium before roaring to an 8-5 aggregate victory.
