Khasan Mamtov scored twice to help Tambov to a straightforward 3-0 win over PFL side Salyut Belgorod on Saturday. Valeriu Cuiperca added a third as Tambov began their winter training camp successfully.
The Russian Premier League side started the match with five players on trial in their line-up - while another came off the bench at half time - and couldn’t find a breakthrough in the first half. A couple of instinctive finishes from former FNL top goalscorer Mamtov put the result beyond doubt before Ciuperca slotted a free kick that he had won.
While most other RPL sides are in sunnier climes, Tambov have begun their training camps at home in their Sports Training Centre, an indoor arena with a capacity of 3,000. Two players who haven’t taken part in the training camps so far are Vladislav Kulik and Danil Klenkin, who have joined Chaika and Neftekhimik respectively.
