Timur Zhamaletdinov was among the scorers for Ural Ekaterinburg on Saturday as they cruised to a 3-1 win over Polish side Rakow Czestochowa in Cyprus. The 22-year-old forward on trial from CSKA Moscow netted five minutes after coming on between goals from Michal Kukharczyk and Artem Shabolin.
Zhamaletdinov finished coolly having collected a chipped ball over the top, but the pick of the goals was Shabolin’s fantastic finish from outside the box. Rakow Czestochowa hit the bar before half time and finished a clever chip from close-range, but Ural were guilty of wasting plenty of chances.
Ural’s Polish contingent of Rafal Augustinyak, Kukharczyk and new signing Maciej Wilusz all started against their compatriots, as well as fellow new recruit Nikolay Zolotov. Roman Emelyanov did not feature as he continues his individual rehabilitation training program.
Ural will return to Cyprus to take part in the FNL Cup in February.
