Lokomotiv Moscow and FCSB split six-goal thriller

print version

Lokomotiv Moscow opened up their winter training with a bang as they drew 3-3 with FCSB in Spain. Three times FCSB took the lead, but Lokomotiv came back each time through goals from Anton Miranchuk, Dmitri Barinov and Rifat Zhemaletdinov. Fedor Smolov missed a penalty with 17 minutes to go that would have won the match.

FCSB took the lead with a significantly deflected free kick after 15 minutes. Anton Miranchuk’s close-range finish from his twin brother Aleksey’s pass on 26 minutes levelled matters.

It was another set piece that pegged Lokomotiv back again, as a deep delivery from the left swung in past everyone just two minutes later. The Miranchuk twins once again combined to draw level as Aleksey’s inventive outside-of-the-boot cross found Anton, whose quick feet helped find Barinov for a tap-in on 32 minutes.

A Grzegorz Krychowiak body check was penalised on the stroke of half time as FCSB converted to take the lead again. Just after the hour mark Mikhail Lysov’s cross found Zhemaletdinov for a simple finish.

After Smolov was tripped in the box 15 minutes later he picked himself up to take the resultant spot kick, only to blast it way over the bar.

Lokomotiv’s next friendly will be against Osijek on 26 January before they complete their first training camp.
