Krylia Sovetov Samara thrash Spartaks Jurmala

print version

Krylia Sovetov Samara kicked off their winter training with a solid 4-1 win over Spartaks Jurmala on Tuesday. Second-half goals from Egor Golenkov, Dmitriy Molchanov and Aleksandr Anyukov sealed the result after Dejan Radonjic’s opener was cancelled out before the break.

Romanian midfielder Paul Anton made his first appearance since getting injured last October, while Denis Yakuba - who hasn’t made a single appearance this season - had 45 minutes. Gennadiy Kiselev also played his first game after injury.

Spartaks Jurmala’s season runs from spring to autumn, but last year they had the worst defensive record in the Latvian top-flight, averaging two goals conceded per game. Sergey Eremenko, brother of Rostov midfielder Roman, started in midfield against Krylia.

The Samara-based side take on Bohemians Prague in their next warmup match on Saturday 25 January.
