Rubin Kazan make double transfer swoop

print version

Rubin Kazan have boosted their attacking options by signing Swiss playmaker Darko Jevtic from Polish side Lech Poznan. Also announced on Wednesday was the transfer of Soltmurad Bakaev, brother of Zelimkhan Bakaev, from Spartak Moscow.

Jevtic is a former Swiss under-21 international who managed five goals in just 10 caps, while this season he has been in blistering form in the Ekstraklasa with five assists and six goals in 19 matches. The 26-year-old has signed a four and a half year contract with Leonid Slutskiy’s side.

Bakaev this season completed a total of 59 minutes for Spartak’s senior side but predominantly featured for Spartak II in the FNL. Oleg Kononov gave the Russia under-20 international his first-team debut last August, and he arrives with a five-year deal.
