Andrey Panyukov had a goal disallowed as Ural Ekaterinburg were unable to avoid defeat against Bulgarian side Tsarsko Selo on Sunday. Other than Yaroslav Godzyur, Michal Kucharczyk, Othman El Kabir and Roman Emelyanov, all senior players had game time.
Ural controlled the majority of the opening period, and threatened with the more dangerous chances. Nikolay Dimitrov set up former Zenit St. Petersburg forward Panyukov to fire home but the linesman ruled it out for offside. Artem Shabolin blazed an effort just over the crossbar shortly after.
Tsarsko Selo struck the only goal halfway through the second half as Ural tired. The Bulgarians were only founded less than five years ago, and are embarking on their first top-flight campaign after winning the second-tier title last summer.
Ural have headed back home for a brief rest before they return to Cyprus for their second training camp on Friday 31 January.
