Official Statement: RPL President Election

On 28 January, a General Meeting of members of the Russian Premier League was held. In connection with the comments of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Electoral Committee on the procedure for electing the RPL’s president, the league’s clubs decided to accept the proposed adjustments and hold elections.

In accordance with RFU and FIFA regulations, the deadline for nominating candidates is 4 February. Elections will be held on 17 March. In accordance with the RFU's recommendations, relevant changes to the RPL Charter will be prepared by 30 June.
