Vladimir Obukhov struck twice to hand Tambov a 2-1 victory over Radnik Surdulica, their second win on their winter training schedule. His two first-half goals put Tambov in control before Nemanja Tomic pulled one back for Radnik 20 minutes after half time.
Tambov were awarded a penalty after quarter of an hour following a clumsy challenge, which Obukhov struck confidently home. Giorgi Shelia made two excellent saves before Obukhov’s powerful shot was turned away at the other end.
Four minutes before the break, Obukhov latched onto a neat one-two to race clear behind the Radnik defence and slot the ball comfortably past the keeper. Although Tomic lifted a consolation goal over new signing Nikita Chagrov, both sides were reduced to long shots after half time.
Tambov face Slovacko from the Czech Republic next in their second match of this second training camp on Monday 3 February.
