Krylia draw twice and sign two players on one day

print version

Maksim Vasilyev’s late equaliser for Chaika denied Krylia Sovetov Samara a third win from three winter training matches. The FNL side had taken the lead through a third-minute Vladislav Kulik penalty, before Krylia reversed the lead with goals from Egor Golenkov and Radu Ginsari.

Vitaliy Lystsov’s wayward pass was played into Aleksandr Podbeltsev, and a scrambling Lystsov bundled the Chaika forward over in the third minute. Kulik made no mistake from 12 yards.

Just over 10 minutes later, Ginsari latched onto a long ball into space on the left wing from where he whipped in a cross to Golenkov. The 20-year-old striker’s movement and timing was perfect, giving Maksim Kiselev no chance.

Krylia took the lead, and again Ginsari was central. His pace got the better of his marker as he burst into the box, and the resulting challenge was punished by a booking and a penalty, which Ginsari himself converted.

With five minutes to go, a howler by Sergey Ryzhikov left Vasilyev free to hook in a knock-down from a corner.

Hours later Krylia took on Dinamo Brest in their second friendly of the day, rescuing a draw with three minutes to go thanks to Dejan Radonic. Four players who had played in the first game against Chaika featured; Lystsov, Artem Timofeev, Paul Anton and Srdjan Mijailovic.

Also included in the lineup was new signing Denis Popovic, who was confirmed by the club on Sunday as a new signing from Orenburg. The Slovenian midfielder has signed a 2.5-year contract.

Evgeniy Frolov, who was also announced as a Krylia player on Sunday, was named on the bench. His move from Orenburg last summer proved unproductive as he made just one appearance. He has also signed a deal until the summer of 2022.

Former Dynamo Kyiv and Tosno playmaker Artem Milevskiy gave Brest the lead after just four minutes. The Minsk-born Ukrainian international carried the ball half the length of the pitch before playing it out wide to Mikhail Gordeychuk, and tucking the return cross inside the near post.

Moments from the end, Anton Zinkovskiy slipped the ball back to Dmitri Kombarov, whose deep ball into the six-yard box found Radonic. His bottom-corner header ensured Krylia remain unbeaten in winter training.

Krylia next play on Saturday 8 February when they have another double-header, including another FNL side in Neftekhimik.
