Tambov were soundly beaten by Czech top-flight side Slovacko on Monday as Adessoye Oyewole was sent off in the first half. Although Soslan Takazov was allowed to replace him at half time, Tambov went on to lose 3-0.
Georgi Melkadze had the best two chances of the opening half an hour despite Tambov being on the back foot initially. The on-loan forward struck a close-range effort into the side netting from a tight angle, before drawing a full-stretch save with a fierce dipping shot.
Two minutes after Oyewole was sent off, Slovacko scored from a simple cut-back and never looked back. A comical defensive mix-up then left Pavel Dvorak with a simple lob to extend the lead, before a scrappy third sealed the comfortable result.
The score could have been worse for Tambov were it not for Nikita Chagrov’s athletic heroics as the new signing made several key saves.
Tambov close their second training camp with a match against Gorodeya of Belarus on Thursday 6 February.
