print version

On 4 February 2020, the nomination period for the post of president of the Russian Premier League ended. All 16 RPL clubs nominated Sergey Pryadkin.

"We have taken into account the recommendations of the election committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) on the procedure for electing the president of the RPL,” said Pryadkin on Tuesday. “The Premier League clubs have accepted the proposed adjustments and will hold the election for RPL president in accordance with the RFU electoral regulations.

“I am grateful to all the RPL clubs for their trust in me. I previously discussed the upcoming elections with the president of the RFU, Alexander Dyukov, and he supported my candidacy.

“On 17 March, before the voting begins, I will submit to the club leaders a report on the work of the RPL under my leadership over the past five years, and the key directions of the RPL development program for the next five-year period.”

The RPL presidential election will take place on March 17, 2020.
