Akhmat leave it late to win last game of second training camp

print version

Andres Ponce pounced in the closing stages to give Akhmat Grozny a 1-0 win over Bulgarian side Ludogorets. Igor Shalimov named a strong team to take on CSKA Moscow’s Europa League conquerors.

After both teams saw counter attacks break down without the ball going out of play, Odise Roshi carried the ball into the opposition half with four minutes remaining. Ravanelli picked out the perfect 40-yard pass to his fellow Brazilian Felipe Vizeu to square to Ponce for a tap-in.

Ludogorets drew 1-1 in Moscow after having thrashed CSKA 5-1 on the opening matchday of the Europa League groups stages. They now face Inter Milan in the first knockout round in two weeks’ time.

Igor Shalimov’s team have a short break before returning for their third training camp in Turkey on Monday 10 February.
