Andrey Panyukov edges FC Ural past FNL side Tekstilshik

print version

Andrey Panyukov’s late goal was the only mark on the scoresheet as FC Ural Ekaterinburg took on second-tier strugglers Tekstilshik. His close-range header crashed in off the crossbar with five minutes left.

Yaroslav Godzyur was forced into a couple of saves in an otherwise uneventful first half. The most dangerous moment before the break came at the other end, when Panyukov squirmed a shot just past the post under pressure.

FC Ural fielded virtually their first-choice lineup but found it difficult to create any major openings. Five minutes from time, however, Nikolay Dimitrov’s cross found the lurking Panyukov to settle a flat performance.

FC Ural kick off their FNL Cup campaign on Friday 14 February against Fakel Voronezh.
