Dynamo Moscow 1-0 FC Tambov
Goal: Nikolay Komlichenko (34’)
Man of the Match: Nikolay Komlichenko
Nikolay Komlichenko marked his first start for Dynamo Moscow with his first competitive goal for the club as they beat FC Tambov 1-0. The man of the match had also seen an earlier strike ruled out by a marginal VAR offside decision.
Sixteen minutes in clever quick passes between Maximilian Philipp, Clinton N’Jie and Konstantin Rausch threaded a chance through to Komlichenko to bundle in, but VAR ruled it out for the tightest of offsides.
Ten minutes before the break though Rausch again supplied the ammunition, and this time Komlichenko’s strike counted. A right-footed inswinging cross found the Russian striker deep at the back post to athletically stretch a high boot and volley in the only goal of the game.
Mikhail Kostyukov found himself in space on the edge of the box on the hour mark before sliding a tame effort straight at Anton Shunin under pressure from Dmitriy Skopintsev and Ivan Ordets.
It took a full-stretch flying save from Giorgi Shelia to keep out Skopintsev's rocket moments later, before Komlichenko's radar was slightly off after Philipp had hustled Guram Tetrashvili out of possession.
Vladimir Obukhov curled a free kick towards the top corner with 20 minutes to go but Shunin was equal to it.
Dynamo Moscow take on Akhmat Grozny next away from home on Friday 13 March, while FC Tambov host Krylia Sovetov Samara in Nizhny Novgorod on Monday 16 March.
