Lokomotiv Moscow’s board of directors have appointed Marko Nikolic as the club’s new manager.
The Serbian will officially begin his role as head coach on 1 June 2020, the day after the contract of Yuri Semin, who has been in charge of Lokomotiv since 2016, expires.
Nikolic won the Serbian Superliga and Serbian Cup double with Partizan Belgrade in 2016/17, while he also guided Videoton (as Fehervar were then known) to the Hungarian league title the following season. The 40-year-old began his coaching career in 2001 as a youth coach, and since becoming a senior head coach he boasts a win percentage record over 50%, peaking at over 85% in his last season with Partizan.
