Dynamo Moscow 0-1 Arsenal Tula
Saturday 4 July, VTB Arena
Goal: Lutsenko (18’)
Man of the Match: Georgi Kostadinov (Arsenal Tula)
Sent off: Kombarov (35’)
Evgeniy Lutsenko scored for the fourth RPL game in a row to end Arsenal Tula’s five-game losing streak, his side playing with a numerical disadvantage for almost an hour. Kirill Kombarov’s red card threatened to give Dynamo a way back into the game but they couldn’t break Arsenal down.
Lutsenko pounced just after quarter of an hour when Danil Lesovoy skipped past Grigory Morozov with surprising ease to lay a simple finish on a plate for the RPL’s second highest scorer.
Ten minutes before half time, however, Arsenal’s momentum was disrupted by Kirill Kombarov’s dismissal for catching Sylvester Igboun with his studs.
Igboun threatened in the second half with two powerful headers, one of which struck the underside of the crossbar and bounced out, but Dynamo couldn’t create an opening against the 10 men.
Dynamo Moscow are away to Ural Ekaterinburg next on Thursday 9 July, while Arsenal Tula host Krylia Sovetov Samara on Tuesday 7 July.
