Akhmat Grozny 0-4 CSKA Moscow
Saturday 4 July, Akhmat Arena
Goals: Chalov (61’), Vlasic (62’), Sigurdsson (65’), Semenov (OG 85’)
Man of the Match: Kirill Nababkin (CSKA)
Fedor Chalov, Nikola Vlasic and Arnor Sigurdsson combined in an explosive three-goal four-minute blitz from CSKA that whisked the game out of Akhmat’s hands. Andrey Semenov turned in a Jaka Bijol cross into his own net with five minutes left to complete the rout
The best chance of the first half fell to Konstantin Kuchaev after a wonderful combination between Nikola Vlasic and Fedor Chalov. His patient shot was tipped over by Evgeniy Gorodov at full stretch.
Just after the hour mark Ivan Oblyakov crossed perfectly for Fedor Chalov to tap in his first goal in 10 RPL games, and before the hosts had had a chance to respond, Vlasic smartly sidestepped a marker before drilling a precise finish for his 10th goal of the season.
Arnon Sigurdsson joined the party three minutes later to put the game well beyond doubt. Kuchaev’s drive into the box was blocked, but his Icelandic teammate brilliantly fired home from a tight angle.
With time running down Semenov could do little to keep out Bijol’s dangerous cross.
