Petrov not only helped Safonov keep Ural Ekaterinburg off the scoresheet, but he also completed more passes than any other right-back, two of which were key ones, with more successful passes into the penalty area too. Not only that, he also topped the number of successful challenges in his position.

Left-back: Douglas Santos (Zenit St. Petersburg)

Santos was the only left-back to assist a teammate on matchday 28. He came out on top in almost every category, including total passes, key passes, passes into the opposition area, challenges won, interceptions and take-ons completed.

Centre-back: Samuel Gigot (Spartak Moscow)

Gigot complete 94% of his attempted passes - only two centre-backs completed more in total - and won all but two of his challenges. As well as that he successfully dispossessed an opponent three times.

Centre-back: Dennis Hadzikadunic (FC Rostov)
InStat Index: 324

Hadzikadunic registered one of the highest success rates for challenges at 86%, while also contributing in attack; two of his attempted key passes found their target, while he also made two successful passes into the opposition area.

Defensive midfield: Aleks Kral (Spartak Moscow)
InStat Index: 316

Kral made more interceptions - and more in the opposition half - than any other defensive midfielder, while also having more shots on goal too. Nobody in his position managed more key passes, while only three completed more passes overall.

Right midfield: Wanderson (FC Krasnodar)
InStat Index: 426

Krasnodar’s Brazilian winger was on fire against Ural Ekaterinburg as he completed double the number of key passes compared to the next most productive right midfielder, had three shots on goal, and beat his man seven times out nine attempts.

Left midfield: Manuel Fernandes (FC Krasnodar)
InStat Index: 367

Wanderson’s portugues teammate got on the scoresheet in the 3-0 win after taking eight shots on goal, four of which were on target. Only one other left midfielder completed more overall passes.

Attacking midfield: Kirill Panchenko (Dynamo Moscow)
InStat Index: 352

Even though he was only on the pitch for an hour, Panchenko took more shots on goal (7), and on target (4), than anyone else in his position. Only one other attacking midfielder won more challenges than his 10, while he also completed four take-ons.

Striker: Fedor Chalov (CSKA Moscow)
InStat Index: 312

Chalov continued his good form with his third goal in four games with his only shot on target. He also attempted - and completed - more key passes than any other striker.

Striker: Marcus Berg (FC Krasnodar)
