Two Aleksey Miranchuk penalties - the second in added time - snatched a derby win for Lokomotiv Moscow to ensure Champions League football for the Railwaymen. Nikola Vlasic had earlier equalised for CSKA.
Igor Diveev unleashed a thunderbolt free kick that struck the crossbar after 20 minutes from all of 35 yards, but it was a set piece at the other end that broke the deadlock.
Just after half an hour, and after the help of a VAR review, Lokomotiv were awarded a penalty after Eder was tripped by Igor Diveev. Miranchuk sent Akinfeev the wrong way to hand his side the lead with his 11th goal of the season.
After considerable pressure from the Armymen, a Georgi Schennikov drilled cross rebounded off Murilo straight into Nikola Vlasic’s path. The Croat made no mistake from a few yards out.
In added time though, Kirill Nababkin’s raised hand touched an inbound header, and Miranchuk made no mistake from the spot.
