Anton Miranchuk’s cool finish on the stroke of half time sealed a simple 1-0 win for Champions League-bound Lokomotiv Moscow away to beaten Russian Cup semi-finalists Ural Ekaterinburg. The goalscorer was sent off in added time, but it made no difference to the result.
In first-half added time Aleksey Miranchuk skipped past three challenges before releasing Dmitry Rybchinsky into a pocket of space outside the area. He fed Anton Miranchuk to his left, who drilled a low finish past Yaroslav Godzyur.
Ural Ekaterinburg finish the season in 11th place after losing the Russian Cup semi-final at home to FC Khimki at the weekend, while Lokomotiv had already been guaranteed 2nd, and with it group-stage Champions League football before kickoff.
