Zenit St. Petersburg 1-0 FC Khimki
Russian Cup Final, Saturday 25 July, Centralniy Stadium Ekaterinburg
Goal: Dzyuba (pen 84’)
Artem Dzyuba struck a late penalty to win the Russian Cup for Zenit St. Petersburg after Malcom had been brought down in the box. Sergey Semak’s side claimed their second league and cup double after repeating their feat from 2010.
A quiet first half saw few chances, although Dzyuba did deflect a Vyacheslav Karavaev cross onto the post.
Ilya Lanratov was by far the busier keeper - especially after the break - but he couldn’t keep out Dzyuba’s penalty. With the last touch of the game Egor Danilikin’s header struck the post with Mikhail Kerzhakov stranded. Zenit became four-time Russian Cup winners, earlier they defended champions title in RPL.
