Rotor slipped to their third defeat of the season as Nikita Burmistrov struck either side of half time. He was on hand to bundle in a loose ball after Rotor were unable to clear a corner, before Kamil Mullin equalised after the break. Burmistrov bagged a second to claim all three points just moments later.

Rotor remain on one point after four games, while Sochi are unbeaten on eight points.

Rotor Volgograd are at home again next as they host Spartak Moscow on Wednesday 26 August, while FC Sochi are away to FC Tambov on Tuesday 25 August.
