Bakaev penalty enough for Spartak to beat Rotor

Spartak Moscow had to work for their win away to Rotor Volgograd as Zelimkhan Bakaev scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after half time. Aleksandr Maksimenko made a number of impressive saves for the visitors to help maintain their unbeaten record.

Rotor remain rooted to the bottom of the table on one point, but Spartak move up to 11 points.

Rotor Volgograd travel to face FC Khimki next on Saturday 29 August, while Spartak Moscow host Arsenal Tula on the same day.
