Despotovic double saves Rubin point at home to Tambov

Djordje Despotovic scored his first goals for Rubin Kazan as he struck two equalisers, the second deep into added time to save a point. His first came in first-half added time by tapping in the loose ball from Sergey Ryzhikov’s calamitous error. 

Tambov had taken the lead through Aleksandr Karapetyan’s firm header from Pavel Karasev’s perfect right-wing cross, before Karasev himself got on the scoresheet to give Tambov the lead with just over five minutes to go. Rubin move up to eight points, while Tambov edge up to four.

Rubin Kazan are away to Dynamo Moscow next, while FC Tambov are at home to FC Ufa.
