Stanislav Cherchesov's team led after the first half thanks to Anton Miranchuk's goal in the 28th minute. The Lokomotiv midfielder scored his second goal for the national team. The Turks hit back in the 62nd minute when Kenan Karaman scored.

In added time, Dynamo midfielder Daniil Fomin made his debut for the Russian national team.

Cherchesov's team stay top of League B Group 3 table with seven points. The Turks are in third place with two points.

On 14 October, Russia will host Hungary on the next League of Nations matchday, while Turkey will face Serbia in Istanbul. Both fixtures will start at 21:45 MSK.

At the end of the Nations League group stage, the four group winners in League B will advance to League A, while the four last-placed teams will go to League C.
