Hashimoto helps lift Rostov up to fifth against 10-man Akhmat

Kento Hashimoto scored his fifth goal of the season to put Rostov in control against Akhmat. The Japanese midfielder rose highest to direct a powerful header into the bottom corner midway through the first half.

Shortly before the break Georgi Melkadze saw his penalty saved down low by Sergey Pesyakov, while near the end his teammate Anton Shvets was sent off late on for the second time in eight RPL appearances this season. In added time, Roman Eremenko and Daniil Glebov compounded Akhmat’s misery to make the final score 3-0.

Rostov move up to fifth on 20 points, while Akhmat remain 10th on 12 points.
