The Armymen started their second straight Europa League group campaign with a draw at Austria. Adolfo Gaich opened the score five minutes after the kick-off scoring his first goal for CSKA. The hosters equalized, when Michael Liendl capitalized the penalty after Viktor Vasin's foul on Dejan Loveljic.

The other group K participants Dinamo Zagreb and Feyenoord ended their match with goalless draw in Croatia.
