Krasnodar lose first Champions League home match to Chelsea

After a couple of shots on Edouard Mendy’s net at the beginning Chelsea was awarded with a penalty because of Kaio’s foul on Timo Werner. Jorginho hit the post, and after the rebound from Matvey Safonov’s back the hosts cleared the box. Krasnodar goalkeeper was close to save Callum Hudson-Odoi’s shot on the 37th minute, but could not stop the ball, and it crossed the goalline.

After the half-time Yury Gazinsky missed a couple of opportunities, when his shot was blocked by a defender and he hit the bar after the corner kick. In the last 15 minutes Chelsea got another penalty shot after Aleksandr Martynovich handball, and Timo Werner doubled the lead from the spot. Later the score was extended by Hakim Ziyech, who scored his first Chelsea goal, and Christian Pulisic, who came from the bench.

In the group E Krasnodar stay on one point, while Chelsea earn four points.
